Compass Rose Investors & Supporters
Our business model involves presenting to the public a collection of vintage vessels for either charter service on the bay, or overnight accommodations. While this business model has lower overhead, the upfront capital needs for restoring a vintage yacht to appropriate condition are sizeable. Our goal is to fill a niche in the tourism and excursion market that provides hands on access to vintage vessels and yachts that are seldom available to the general public. At the same time, we will be offering an economic engine that will secure a future for a rapidly vanishing segment of maritime architecture. The majority of our vessels will be owner provided and managed by us with a revenue sharing arrangement that helps owners offset the considerable cost of maintaining vintage assets.
To meet the capital intensive startup costs, we are offering equity stakes for investors who provide $5,000 or more in capital for use in outfitting our first vessels. As an equity investor, you will receive a portion of the profits commensurate to your investment. You will also have access to our growing fleet of vintage vessels on a space available basis (crew, fuel and food costs not included). This is an excellent benefit for anyone who has ever considered owning one of these fine vessels, but was deterred by the cost and commitment of maintaining them.

We would like to gratefully acknowledge the support of our current investors.

Compass Rose Investment Opportunity:
Your Invitation . . .
By now, you can see that I am no stranger to the hard work it takes to translate dreams into reality. But it will take more than just hard work to make this dream a reality. To date, I have invested over $60,000 in cash, and including my labor, that total reaches $85,000. I extend this invitation to you to join me as I round this last corner. There are no shortages of opportunities to invest your money, and none of them are without risk. I like to think this opportunity is unique among others - enough so that it has inspired me for the last four and a half years. Not withstanding the figures above or below, I can tell you that so far, this endeavor has returned more to me than any other investment I have ever made. I am looking for someone like myself who is not a groundhog, waiting for better weather. I am looking for someone who wants help make the weather instead of waiting for it to wash over them. That may sound foolish to some, but there is an old Japanese proverb that speaks of a butterfly's wings stirring the winds into a storm. I hope you will be one of those who steps foward and helps stir the winds of recovery in our country; if not with me, at least with someone. As Albert Einstein once observed, insanity is most easily reached by doing the same thing and expecting a different result.

Investment Financing Option:
Another avenue for investors would be the traditional business loan format. As a new business, business loans are difficult to obtain even under the best circumstances. The loan amount of $20,000 would be repaid on a monthly basis starting six months from the date of capital investment at the rate of $450.00 per month during the five year period. Total repayment will equal $25,500. Upon repayment the suggested overall rate of return on initial investment will equal approximately 25%. The lender(s) would also be afforded two weeks per year free accommodations and cruising privileges aboard the Compass Rose during the period of investment (excluding fuel, crew and food costs). Free accommodations represent a $10,000 value over the term of the investment and are an excellent added value.
